In Frida Johansson's work, nature, people and the environment are depicted mainly in realistic painting. All works are pieces of stories, where one image leads to the next. Her painting is a way of processing events, and the motifs are taken from everyday moments where the people in the paintings are often in empty and silent environments, facing away from the viewer. Themes such as rootlessness, melancholy, and femininity are treated. Through art, she investigates and tries to understand her surroundings in order to make our contemporary times visible.
